Arantza Lekuona has been the manageress of the regional autonomous body Kabia since 2015.

She has a degree in Political Sciences and Sociology and has completed several postgraduate and specialist university courses (on Public Administration, on Governance and Comparative Political Analysis, on Human Rights and on Data Protection and Privacy).

She spent the early part of her career in the field of research and university teaching. She was a fellow of the Basque Institute of Public Administration (IVAP) (1995-1997) and a lecturer at the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) in the Department of Political Science and Administration (1998-2001).

In 2001, she started working in the city of Donostia-San Sebastián as an employment and training technician (2001-2002). Since then, she has developed her career in public administration, being a career civil servant in the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa since 2007. During these years, she has held the positions of technician and supervisor in the Basque Government as a senior technician (2003-2004) and, since 2004, in the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa as a social management technician (2004-2007), senior planning and systems technician (2007-2012), Head of the Service for the Promotion of Children, Youth and Adolescents (2012-2015) and, lastly, manageress of the regional autonomous body Kabia (since 2015).

The regional autonomous body Kabia is a public body dependent on the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and attached to the Department of Social Policy, with its mission being to provide users with quality care and comprehensive, personalised attention, responding to their needs and guaranteeing their rights. From the point of view of linguistic equality, the Kabia language service will be the one chosen by the user, always proactively promoting the use of the Basque language; the working language will be Basque in the main.
