In this page you will find the Intellectual Outputs (IOs) which will be produced by COMBI consortium. Specifically, during the 3-years project the partnership will produce different results:
IO1 – Finalization of the needs analysis
A cross-national needs assessment will be launched by the COMBI team, with a twofold objective:
1) to collect and analyse data on the competence gap of communication in the (local) languages required in a multilingual workplace (e.g. health care sector / elderly care)
2) to bridge this gap through a suitable set of actions that encompasses skills upgrading, exchange of practice and the development of action plans that trainers can implement in their teaching programme with the support of the COMBI team.

IO2 – Development of the Teacher Training Toolkit
The Teacher Training Toolkit (TTT) will be a handbook of guidelines that will focus on language learning from multidisciplinary viewpoints.
The toolkit will consist of five parts:
1) tools for collecting and analyzing workplace and labour market communication needs
2) tools for multidisciplinary approaches to learning (sociolinguistic, strategic, psychological, cultural)
3) description and exercises using multidisciplinary approaches in the field of elderly care
4) planning of courses using a multidisciplinary approach
5) different tools of evaluation

IO4 – Development of Modules
Topics of the modules include:
1) tools for collecting and analyzing workplace and work field communication needs and elements
2) tools for multidisciplinary approaches to learning (sociolinguistic, strategic, psychological, cultural)
3) description and exercises using multidisciplinary approaches in the field of elderly care
4) planning of courses using a multidisciplinary approach
5) different tools of evaluation
6) best practices transferable at a pan-european level (addressed to policymakers)
7) tools for migrant workers in the health care / elderly care sector
IO6 – Guidelines and Good Practices: Roadmap on Best Practices in the field of multilingual workplaces
The Roadmap will collect all important highlights of the project, making use of the experts and the network of the project, specifically of interest to stakeholders at policy making level in the field of:
1) multilingualism and linguistic diversity, employment and social affairs, health care and
2) vocational trainers in adult learning in the care sector and teachers of regional languages for adults
